NO MORE VOTE HUNTING,
WE GO FOR FROG HUNTING

Apparently when everybody of the country is sitting in front of the television, discussing who will be the next prime minister of the world’s largest democracy, some men of Samthar village of Darjeeling district don’t bother themselves with these ‘silly’ matters. They are going to hunt frogs and catch prawns at the khola (mountain river), in the middle of the night. They do this every night with fire torches and enormous courage, as they can be easily targeted by leopards, wolves or snakes in the jungle. Any wrong step along the tricky mountain paths might cost them their lives. Still this primitive addiction stands above everything else. For these people current affairs, politics, doesn’t really matter at all. They are concerned with their daily duties to feed themselves in a jungle life.
